There's nothing worse than having your dog suffer over a simple mistake in diet. While they're still man's best friend, they probably shouldn't eat like your best friend.

  1. Mandy Clarke. I believe MOST people do not find this a problem. Obviously we all know of the foods we should NOT feed dogs. As for other foods they are OK as a special treat occasionally as most dog owners would agree

  2. Dark chocolate, milk, avocado, and grapes have always been on my list. Not sure why you would feed a dog an apple core, garlic, onion??? I would also think the size of your dog would affect the ability to digest some of these.

  3. It’s the neat tea tree oil that’s supposedly harmful, Brian. My schnauzer loves bananas & potatoes too. Years ago, our vets said that potatoes were bad for dogs, now they’re in a few foods for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Go figure! 🙂

  4. I had a chihuahua that passed when he was 11 yrs old and gave him bacon treats. My other baby is 10 1/2 yr old small mutt. Bacon treats too. I just got a new puppy for my birthday, a teacup chihuahua. He will only get puppy food and only human food that are good for dogs.

  5. The biggest worry now is all the products developed to be reduced sugar or sugar free, e.g cakes/pastries/ biscuits/ peanut butter/ fruited yogurts and lots of foods that normally wouldn’t be an issue – as the sugar replacers now used ( xylitol/ polyols/ etc )can be lethal to dogs at v v tiny levels – please please READ THE INGREDIENT LISTS!!!

  6. raw diet is natural that we, as humans, decided to eat. there are only a few similarities between that and the raw diet for dogs. anyway, doesn’t matter…I agree that a raw diet is best

  7. I feed mine 3x a day 1/4 cup each meal. Vet said snacks should be no bigger than the size od a bean. I had been feeding her Blues yogurt and banana. Her age, breed and weight were a big concern of his plus she is having joint problems. She is doing much better and is in very good health
