As a responsible dog owner, it's critical to know what you can and can't feed your dog. Is it enough to just stick with a decent doggy diet?

Nope. There's a ton of foods you probably didn't know about that can actually be really bad for your dog, including some that are perfectly healthy for humans.

There's nothing worse than having your dog suffer over a simple mistake in diet. While they're still man's best friend, they probably shouldn't eat like your best friend.

    Who would ever give their dog an apple core or an avocado pit? But the actual fruit is good for them. And bacon??? I’ve given my dogs pieces of bacon all their lives…. not a pound of it at a time but they love a piece here and there.

    The whole idea is to avoid “Too Much” of these foods. A single M&M, or a bit of cheese won’t kill your dog. A block of baking chocolate – yeah, that could very well be a problem. Moderation, as in all things, is key.

    Our oldest ate an entire sleeve of thin mints (Girl Scout cookies) once! Probably added to her weight issue, but she’s healthy as can be otherwise.

    Don’t you love how Cockers don’t understand the concept of furniture you do not sit on??

    I’m yet to meet a dog allergic to chocolate, seriously. I believe that one is made up by a chocolate lover not willing to share. 🙂 How about milk? Many breeders put milk on dry puppy food to soften it. Garlic is given (with ACV) to keep fleas away. All of my dogs have eaten their share of cheese with no ill effects as well. And bacon? Hmm, I bet that’s just like chocolate – some bacon lover didn’t want to share with their pooch, so he made up an excuse. 🙂
