As a responsible dog owner, it's critical to know what you can and can't feed your dog. Is it enough to just stick with a decent doggy diet?

  1. Dogs eat poop because they have a mineral or vitamin deficiency that they are lacking in their food. Change of food should be considered if they eat their own poop. I am a vet tech. And yes everyone of those human foods are extremely toxic to dogs. The dog may act fine on the outside but you can’t see what is going on, on the inside.

  2. You are all very lucky, I have the runt of the litter, a small 5#’s and tried to fatten her up once with very pricey real food Dog blend and it almost killed her, she threw up, had diarrhea and got dehydrated very quick, had to spend a couple days at vets on IV fluids, her stomach is very touchy but I can feed her raw carrot slices, apple, peas, mostly raw food of that type n she does well. I’ve been with the same vet for over 30 yrs and all dogs of same breeds are not the same, some are more touchy than others especially in small breeds♡

  3. I don’t feed my animals people food at all. I’d rather them not sit at the table begging for food. I have my dogs trained so that while we are eating they don’t come into the kitchen because I also have a young daughter who tends to throw food on the floor and as a safety procaution because we do cook with a lot of foods dogs should not eat even if they did happen to get a couple scraps off the floor. I love my dogs but I do not feed them human food.

  4. Lame article. All I read was “there are some harmful ingredients that you know nothing about and were not going to give you any scientific evidence to back our claims”. Roscoe is 6 now and the vet indicates that he’s one of the healthiest bulldogs they’ve had come through year after year, and he’s had all sorts of human food over the years.

  5. Wish I new all this before I got my dog, she suffers now, the thing is she wouldn’t touch a grape because I did try her with one (stupid), she loves cheese toast garlic cream custard, don’t get me wrong never gave her lots but did treat her every now and then to a bit of toast or cheese etc. 6 months ago notice not lively as usual, seemed miserable and she got fleas off my neighbours cat ( I do flea her and I do no for sure as she got in there home) took her to vets as she wasn’t her bright self, she has allergy to flea bits so a strict regim of flea treatment every month and has raw food specially from my brilliant vets (best friends cheer tree) and raw treats and she is like her old self again running and playing like a young dog and she is now 10. I now people who do give dogs ham etc do not do it please. My dog would shake I was told jack Russell’s do that (WELL THEY DONT UNLESS THEY ARE EATING WRONG FOODS). Please take note

  6. My baby Shiloh is a miniature Schnauzer an he has food an skin allergies !!! My buy his food from our vet , I have to have a prescription for it an it’s $84.00 a bag but my baby’s health is worth every penny !!! I love my baby he’s family !!
