10 Reasons Why You Should NEVER Own A Boxer

Playful, Devoted, Bright, Loyal, Energetic, Friendly, Calm, Cheerful, Confident, Fearless, Brave, Intelligent… These are some of the words that describe a boxer's temperament.

Do you think you can handle this breed?

Boxers may be widely known to be happy and friendly, there are reasons why you should NEVER allow them into your family. You'd be simply crazy to even consider it!

Here are 10 reasons why…

1. They’re far too grumpy to snuggle your kiddies.

2. They just aren’t cute as puppies. Naha.

  1. If you know anything about boxers they have always been known for their cropped ears. Yes, it is cosmetic and isn’t necessary but you shouldn’t judge anyone who chooses to do it. They don’t love their boxer any less than you love yours. All four of my previous boxers have had their ears cropped, and this one will too. It’s the breed, like how many dobermans do you see with floppy ears? WE ALL LOVE OUR BOXERS, AND THEY LOVE US!

  2. Sheree Stratton we have a Tyson also. Lol!! We have female named Nahla as well. Best dogs ever!! My first two were so closely bonded that when Neko (.the oldest male) died our female (Shelby) literally mounted herself to death not long after. The most amazing thing about that was she went into each one of our children’s rooms and licked them while they were asleep and then came and died in our arms. It was as if she was saying good bye to us all first. Still makes me cry to this day. That was 10 years ago. Amazing breed!!!

  3. Grace I had 2 boxers that both died not a 7 month apart. That was a little over 10 years ago. I still to this day cry when I talk or think about them. I moved recently and found Neko’s collar and sat on the floor crying like a baby. I’m literally tearing up now. Shelby, the female, mourned herself to death after Neko died. That’s the only thing vet could reason. She was healthy as a horse. She went into each of my kids room and licked them while they were sleeping then came and died in our arms. I finally got a boxer 5 years ago and a female 3 years ago. I’m already dreading THAT day. But my love for boxers and the love they give us and my children is well worth it. So I know exactly how you feel is what I’m saying. To me there is not another breed as wonderful as the boxer and I’ve owned a lot of dogs in my life. They are God’s gift that’s for sure!!
