10 Realities New Boston Terrier Owners Must Learn To Accept

Boston Terriers are very individualistic: Some are high-spirited and clownish, some are calm and dignified, even placid. Some are stubborn characters, while others are sweet and gentle.

But in general, the Boston Terrier is an altogether dapper and charming little dog. Playing games and chasing balls are (frequently) two of his passions.

Seeking companionship is another, for the Boston always wants to be with his family. His large expressive eyes, attentively cocked head, and snorting and snuffling sounds bring out parental feelings in many people.

If you are considering to own a boston terrier, or you’ve just become a new boston terrier owner, there are some realities you do need to fully accept.

  1. I was dreading the day when I would have to say goodbye to her, because I knew the grief would be overwhelming. She passed away just over a month ago. So many wonderful memories to sustain our family but it has been hard for all of us. Every time I think I’m ok I’m not. Today my son texted me some photos and I cried. I miss her so much! This is a picture of her with one of her favorite toys. She was having trouble playing, so I would put her and the ball on my bed and gently roll it to her. She loved to play.

  2. thank you! he went blind quite a few years ago – playing with a rabbit and he got kicked in the face 🙁 but I completely understand that. he couldn’t eat and one day he couldn’t walk anymore so we put him down on March 15th. his picture is the background on my phone and I have a locket with some of his ashes in it 🙂 I was a mess the first week or two but just remember our dogs are across the rainbow bridge playing and eating all they can!! that thought is the only thing keeping me going. my dog wasn’t much of a player, he just loved to lay in sunlight!!

  3. I have 2 Boston brothers just turned 7 love them so much we lost a little lady 8 yrs ago now, the most heart renching experience ever don’t know what it is with Bostons that get you

  4. My baby has that outfit too! They sure do help ease pain. I lost my brother about 4 years ago and my BT could sense my deep sadness… he was a blessing to have in such hard times.
