There’s A Caribbean Island Filled With Adoptable Rescue Puppies And I’m Packing My Bags

So get this: there’s a beautiful, tropical, heavenly place that you can vacation to that isn’t just paradise when it comes to its divine landscape. It’s also a paradise for dog lovers!

Potcake Place is a non-profit dog rescue located on the tiny island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos. What makes this place so unbelievably irresistible is it allows responsible tourists to take adoptable puppies to the beach for socialization and playtime.

Why? Because the pups are housed in foster care and were only used to being around a few people at a time, hindering their socialization skills. Jane Parker-Rauw founded Potcake Place in 1997 when she noticed the insane amount of homeless puppies roaming the island. The rescue group now helps approximately 500 puppies find forever homes each year!

I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet! It allows qualified U.S. and Canadian citizens to adopt Potcake puppies! According to their website: “Once puppies have been fostered and we are confident that they are healthy, they are put up for adoption. You can adopt a Potcake [Puppy] and join the growing number of people in the U.S. and Canada, giving these fantastic loyal pets a much needed loving home. You can save a life and make a difference in the future of one dog, of your own family, and of the Turks and Caicos Islands.”

If you just want to spend time with the pups, that’s totally okay too! Playtime with tourists is encouraged! “Pop in, meet some puppies and learn some more about what we do. We have a constant stream of puppies needing socialization and adoption. You can come by and take a puppy out to the beach – we’ll give you everything you need, you just need to supply some TLC.”

According to BuzzFeed: “Lucky visitors can take the dogs to the beach in the morning before the sand gets too hot so they can frolic, splash around, and get comfortable around humans.”

Are your bags packed yet?
