The woman immediately for animal services, and the dog was taken to Lee County Domestic Animal Services. The Florida Cur dog, now named Chance, was found to be dehydrated, malnourished and bleeding from wounds on his arm and chest.

The Sheriff’s Office shared that Chance has been adopted by them and thoroughly “deputized”, and he will be getting his own office. His first day on duty was action-packed, and the pooch is enjoying every second of his new job! We are so thrilled to see Chance grow & thrive so well!

The initial reward was set at $8,000, but with more people coming forward and donating to the reward fund, the reward for information leading to the culprit’s arrest has now been raised to $14,500. We hope the culprit is caught soon and faces justice for their cruel actions.
