Fraternity Suspended After Students Forced Dog To Drink Beer From Keg & Filmed It

Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, has suspended Alpha Epsilon Pi from all activities after a video surfaced of its members forcing a dog to drink beer from a keg at an off-campus party.

In the video, a student is seen holding the small pup over a keg while another pours the beer into the dog’s mouth. Members could be heard laughing in the background and yelling “let’s go.”

The video, which is only five seconds long, was first posted on Snapchat by one of their members, but was then posted to Twitter by an angry viewer.

“So apparently it’s okay to force dogs to drink beer even though it can kill them???,” Kristina tweeted.

The video has sparked outrage among students, staff and social media users.

“The behavior seen on the video is unacceptable and in violation of the University’s Community Standards Code,” a Hofstra spokesperson told Patch.com.

Students identified in the video will be subject to disciplinary action for violating the vode.

According to Jon Pierce, Alpha Epsilon Pi’s media spokesman and former president, their chapter has been placed on ‘cease and desist’ due to the incident. Chapter activities will remain prohibited while the incident is still being investigated.

“We hope that we are able to use this as a teaching moment to help build better young men who are committed to our policies and our mission of developing the future leaders of the world’s Jewish communities,” Pierce told Patch.com.
