Just when you think you’ve heard it all concerning animal abandonment, another story comes along to take you by surprise in the worst way possible.
Imagine forcing your dog to stay outside in the dirt and never taking care of it only to later want it gone because it stinks. Well, that exactly what happened to an older dog named Cola.
At 10-years-old and without a single tooth in her mouth, she was kept outside around the clock as neglected as could be.
Her owners actually had the nerve to want her gone because she smelled bad, but thankfully it was Sidewalk Specials who would step up to take her in!
They accept the dogs no one else wants and let them experience lots of firsts in life. And for Cola, there were plenty of luxuries she’d never been introduced to.

Cola had never left home before, and she’d never had a bath, proper bed, cuddles, or even good food. But it was all about to change for the sweet girl! Before she knew it, she was on her way to Cape Town for the pampering to begin. 🙂

There, the dog would be vetted and bathed and readied for the most important day of her life: Adoption Day! Cola would get that loving forever home and never have to worry about being left outside to herself again.
