Woman Jumps Into Frozen Pool To Save Her Dog But The Dog Had Already Gone Limp

Tennessee woman Jennie Tatum’s 2 dogs were playing by the frozen pool in her backyard when the unthinkable happened. One of her dogs named Sid fell through the ice and into the pool.

Jennie came running out in a state of panic as Sid’s 50-lb body instantly submerged beneath and disappeared below the icy surface.

Without a second’s hesitation, Jennie plunged into the pool and began breaking through the 2-inch ice chunks to find Sid. However, there was no sign of the dog.

Her other dog, Olaf, also anxiously circled around the pool hoping to sniff out the location of his distressed sibling. With the cold getting unbearable, Jennie stepped out of the pool, but quickly dived back in.

This time, Jennie was able to retrieve Sid, but he had gone pale and limp by then. She scooped him up from the frigid water and rushed him indoors to get him warm.

Jennie called her vet for emergency lifesaving advice, and was eventually able to revive Sid with the help of oxygen.

That was mighty close! Sid’s vet believes that he would not have survived another minute if it wasn’t for Jennie’s heroic rescue.

The recuperating pooch has been quite spooked to go near the pool ever since – even after the ice melted.

Jennie says her pool remains open throughout the year, and the unwanted ice layer was formed due to a broken heater that was awaiting repairs.

That was an incredibly close call and we’re so relieved Sid is doing well now!
