This Kitty Was Dyed Purple And Then Tossed In Dogfighting Rings As Bait

The staff of an animal shelter found a kitten dropped off on their steps on the verge of death. He was in terrible shape unlike anything they’d ever seen. The purple kitty needed all the help he could get, and they got to work right away.

The kitten was dumped at the steps of a shelter. He’d been beaten and abused and dyed purple.

The two-month-old kitten was brought inside where they were shocked to see his little body covered in scars.

The San Jose animal shelter would not euthanize this kitten but instead called the Nine Lives Foundation.

It was veterinarian Monica Rudiger who saw Smurf’s wounds and knew he’d been used as bait to train dogs to fight.

Smurf had lived a life full of pain and fear, but now his journey to a normal life began.

Smurf’s spirit never broke and he never gave up, and this went a long way in aiding the recovery process. No one could know how long it’d take, but the Nine Lives Foundation wasn’t about to give up on him.

Hopefully, those responsible for this despicable act were caught and brought to justice. But as for Smurf, he went on to a life in which he’d never know abuse and neglect again. 🙂
