Imagine living in the middle of nowhere, in an area very few people know about, when suddenly a stranger appears on your doorstep. That’s exactly what happened to Joe Sullivan, who lives in a small town in northern Mississippi. Joe is a good Samaritan, so he stepped up. The stranger was, in this case, a badly injured dog.

Joe picked the sweet dog up and she put her head on his shoulder as if to say, ‘thank you and please help me.’

Loaded with scars, scratches, and other injuries, the sweet man took the dog right to Animal Clinic of Tippah County. They assessed the dog and believe she had been hit by a car at some point and fractured her hip and had nerve damage. After providing her with fluids through an intravenous line and treating her other wounds, the dog would make a full recovery.

Joe decided to adopt the dog and name her Betsy. He worried if his other dogs would be happy about a new canine in the pack since they aren’t very fond of strange dogs. Amazingly, they all accepted Betsy as one of their own. She loves to run and play and is all better now.
