Hero Pilots Rescue 400 Dogs, Fly Them To Forever Homes!

On October 5, 2013 in Hinesville, Georgia, hundreds of pilots and rescue volunteers came together for the Pilots N Paws awareness event to rescue and transport over 400 dogs from kill shelters in the southeast.

Since 2008, Pilots N Paws has connected general aviation pilots with rescue volunteers to transport animals in need to safe havens.

The mission of Pilots N Paws is to be a meeting place for volunteers engaged in the valuable services of rescuing, sheltering and adopting animals, and volunteer pilots and plane owners willing to assist with animal transportation.

They provide an environment in which volunteers can come together and arrange or schedule rescue flights, overnight foster care or shelter, and all other related activities.

Pilots N Paws says, “You can make a difference in your own community by getting involved with rescues, shelters, be a foster home and most importantly, promote spay and neuter of your pets to stop the overcrowding and euthanasia of perfectly adoptable pets like those in this video.”

Check out the video on the next page to watch 115 pilots and 200 volunteers work together to make Operation Special Delivery happen and give new and happy lives to 400 dogs!
