Owner Starves & Neglects Puppy To Near-Death, Surrenders Him To Escape Charges

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

Gallant was just a 6-month-old Great Dane puppy when he was “surrendered” to Animal Control by his neglectful owner in Greenville, South Carolina.

The owner had starved Gallant to near-death and never tended to his health, but the evil owner escaped all charges simply because of surrendering him.

The workers were heartbroken when they realized the extent to which Gallant had suffered. The poor boy had infected skin that was oozing from many places.

He was shivering from fever in the emergency room and it didn’t seem like he would make it through the night.

The vet staff stayed up all night to monitor Gallant while he was on IV fluids, painkillers and antibiotics.

Gallant somehow understood he was being loved and cared for, so he started wagging his tail at his caretakers and vowed to hold on to life!

After 4 intense weeks of treatment in the ICU, Gallant is finally out of the danger zone now. His eyes aren’t sunken anymore and his skin is much better as well.

Gallant has been transferred to a regular vet where he will gradually heal himself, body and soul.

Gallant still fears the hate and disgust of his abusive owners, but he’s now starting to hope for a better life again. He is under the care of “Rescue Dogs Rock Inc.”, and if you wish, you can contribute toward his recovery through their website here.

It breaks our heart to think that his owner will never be accounted for their actions. Let’s raise our voices and demand stricter laws for animal abuse and neglect.
