Ford Designed A Noise-Canceling Dog Kennel That Blocks Out Thunder and Fireworks Noise

Big human celebrations like the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve often involve fireworks bursting in the sky. Most dogs are not fond of loud sounds, especially fireworks.

Dog owners are left trying to calm their dogs with everything from medications to loud music. Ford has released what it is calling the first in a series of innovations.

The new noise-canceling dog kennel from Ford uses the same technology created for high-end vehicles they sell in Europe.

Dogs who enter the quiet kennel will hear less sound and feel less vibration, making it a safe, calming place to go when noises scare them. There are also sound systems within the microphones that surround the kennel’s dog bed.

In a statement to the Detroit Free Press, Lyn West, brand content manager, marketing communications, Ford of Europe, shared, “We wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could be applied to help in other situations.

Could dogs enjoy quieter New Year’s Eve celebrations through the application of our Active Noise Control system?”

Although the dog kennels are not available for purchase and not being produced just yet, Ford is open to the idea of someone developing the prototype.
