As humans, we all have our quirks, but that’s what makes us unique. There is no other human on this planet who is exactly the same as us. And the same goes for dogs! Dogs definitely have their quirks about them as well, and a lot of the times they really give us a good laugh.
This adorable Newfoundland named Duke certainly has some quirks, and they are pretty hilarious. His mom asks him if he wants different things, like treats, cheese, cookies, and he has the same reaction to all of them: he just sticks his tongue out and pants away.
But there is one word that Duke isn’t too fond of: water. Every time his mom asks him if he wants some water, he closes his mouth and wears an adorable little smirk on his face while scrunching his nose and tilting his head.
And it wasn’t just a fluke. His mom says the different words several more times, and Duke still has the same reactions. For whatever reason, Duke has something against the word “water.”

While dogs react to different things we say, can they really understand what we are saying? A study from scientists in Hungary has found that dogs not only understand the meaning of words, but also the intonation used to speak them. For example, if you use a high-pitched, excited voice to tell your dog he’s going to the vet, your happy voice won’t fool him at all.
