The attachment between dogs and people grows exponentially. The love runs deep and the bond seems unbreakable. That’s what life was like between one Daschund named Inny and her human Dad. But, when everything changed, their hearts were broken.
As time went on and life played out, the two were forced to separate. Dad had hit an age when he needed care from a nursing home. He had lost his wife, home and exhausted his finances. It was time to say goodbye. A very gut-wrenching and heartbreaking goodbye.
Fortunately for Inny, with help of the Rescued Rescuers, she was found a family who gave her lots of love. But Dad had no one to fill his heart again, until a year later when Dad’s daughter April took it upon herself to reach out to the Rescued Rescuers to try and connect with the current owners. Lucky for Dad, the woman lived near his nursing home. And as a surprise, April arranged a meet-up that would prove to be heart melting for both Inny and Dad.
In this video, you can watch just how special their reunion was. It’s incredible how Inny remembers her original Dad. In fact, the meet-up went so well that Inny’s new owner will be bringing Inny by for playdates regularly.

There is an intangible bond between us humans and dogs. Day in and day out we are greeted with unconditional love, given limitless affection, and often find ourselves laughing and happy about what our dogs are doing. I’m really glad they had their reunion and that Dad will be getting visits. Knowing that he has something to look forward to as he lives out his years is everything.
