Dachshund And Seal Become Best Friends At First Sight

If you’re looking for something that might help brighten your day, you’re at the right place at the right time!

Most of us probably have been on trips away where we’ve met people from different walks of life.

It can be strangely satisfying to socialize with strangers in other countries, with it sometimes leading to long-lasting friendships.

That is exactly what transpired when a sea dog, met a land dog.

While visiting the Sea Life Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Cornwall, a dachshund named Stanley, along with his owner Melanie Talbot, encountered a rescue seal named Aayla — and they quickly hit it off.

As soon as the pair clapped eyes on each other, there seemed to be a connection. Apparently, Aayla dove to the window and kept swimming around out of curiosity, constantly eyeballing the 2-year-old dachshund.

The two spent a good 20 minutes interacting with each other and posing for photos. And it was absolutely adorable!

“Aayla is often found by the underwater viewing, she absolutely loves interacting with people and dogs,” “We are often sent photos from our guests who have captured Aayla interacting with their dogs, so this isn’t the first time she has made friends with a dog, although she seemed to really love Stanley!”, explained Georgina Shannon of the Sea Life Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary.

Talbot, the dachshund’s owner, explained that it felt like they were friends at first sight. The way they were booping their noses at the glass made it look like they’re whispering to each other.

They then struck some poses for the camera with Aayla looking more like a dog with her tilted head than an actual seal.

Needless to say, the two new pals look great together

Talbot added that while Stanley has plenty of other dog friends, this was the first time she has ever seen the two-year-old dachshund make friends with a different species of animal.

“It was so lovely and such a heartwarming thing to see,” Talbot said. “When I looked at the photo I captured, it just made me think that friendships can blossom in any animals – it was nice to see different species form such a bond.” She told Kennedy News.
