Royce Thomas was live-streaming inside of Bark n’ Bitches Dog Boutique in Fairfax, California, when one of the employees grabbed a dog and threw it across the store.
In the video, you can see the woman forcibly grabbing the dog by the back of his neck before violently tossing him to the ground.
The dog was visibly shaken up and hid, cowering under a bench as the woman who threw him ran to the back of the store. the manager held the pup and tried to calm customers down after they were understandably mortified.
Witnesses say the dog was upside down and landed right on his head when he hit the floor.
Bark n’ Bitches has since released a statement on Instagram, reciting that the employee has been fired.
“There was an inexcusable incident in the shop tonight,” they wrote. “We will not tolerate this or any actions that put our rescues in harms way. The appropriate actions are being taken. This is NOT what we stand for.”
Rebecca Corry of the Stand Up For Pits Foundation commented on the statement:
“The human who did this didn’t think twice about abusing this dog so publicly and should be met with severe punishment and this establishment be held accountable as well,” she wrote. “Should all those dogs be removed and taken on by other rescues, the SUFP will help assists how we can if needed.”
The dog was brought to a veterinarian to be examined and is thankfully expected to be just fine.
