Life with three dogs means there’s never a dull (or quiet) moment — especially at bedtime. For Jo Constant and her partner, their pups are more than happy to share the bed, whether there’s room or not.
“Flippit the Whippet and Bear would always sleep under the duvet with us if they could,” Constant told The Dodo. “Bear is huge — around 84 pounds — so sometimes it’s just Flippit tucked in, and you don’t even notice. The worst is when one lies on top of the duvet and pins everyone down.”
Recently, during a hotel stay with all three dogs piled in for the night, Constant woke up, got ready for the day, and then glanced back at the bed — only to burst out laughing.
The way her partner and the dogs were sprawled across the sheets created the funniest sight: it looked as though her partner had the body of a dog.
“When you share your bed with half man, half whippet,” Constant joked.
She quickly snapped a photo before the moment passed.
“They were Bear’s legs,” she explained. “Flippit was in there, too.”
Of course, the dogs didn’t notice anything unusual. For them, squeezing onto the bed — under the blankets, on top of them, or draped across their humans — was just another normal morning.
While the arrangement isn’t always the most comfortable, Constant and her partner wouldn’t trade it for anything. After all, life (and sleep) is always better with a little dog-fueled chaos.
