Camila Perman and her ex-boyfriend only dated for a short time before they went their separate ways about a year and a half ago.
Their breakup was amicable, and life moved on. But during their time together, something major happened — they adopted a playful puppy named Gala.
From the moment Gala joined the family, she stole everyone's hearts — including Perman’s then-boyfriend’s. The bond between Gala and him was instant and undeniable.
When the relationship ended, Perman and her ex remained friendly, though naturally, their lives drifted apart — and so did Gala’s contact with him.
Or so Perman thought.
The other evening, while walking Gala through a dimly lit park, something unexpected happened. Out of the shadows, a familiar figure appeared.
Though it had been 18 months since they last crossed paths, Gala recognized him immediately — it was her old best friend.
What happened next was pure magic — and Perman caught it on video.
“It was so beautiful to see them reunite,” Perman told The Dodo. The surprise meeting even gave her and her ex a chance to reconnect. “He walked us home afterward to make sure we got back safely.”
Gala, meanwhile, was absolutely beaming, snuggled happily in her long-lost friend’s arms.
Whether or not the encounter rekindles anything between Perman and her ex remains to be seen. But if Gala’s joyous reaction is any indication, their story might not be over just yet.
When asked if she'd be open to arranging future meetups — at least for Gala’s sake — Perman didn’t hesitate: “Yes, I think so.”
