Pugs love food, and begging can easily get out of hand if family members are in the habit of feeding their dog from the table or offering scraps from plates.
It is important that owners only offer treats (especially “people” food) after the dog performs a specified action, like sitting.
They can also feed the Pug before the rest of the family eats, which makes the dog less likely to beg.
Given Pugs’ short statures and tendency to do cute things, it is important that their owners do not inadvertently encourage undesirable behaviors by laughing or giving in to their Pugs’ demands.
Well, having said that, there are rare instances where the pug becomes overprotective and even becomes territorial over his food.
That's what seems to be happening with Sadie. She's turned into an overprotective pug, who doesn't want anyone to touch HER pizza boxes!!
Check out the video on the next page and watch Sadie the pug as she randomly decides that the pizza boxes belongs to her!

Bad training. This dominant behaviour had to be corrected immediately, instead of teasing her.

Susan Viglione, Louie used to do this. He’d get really pissed if i tried to take food from him. Never tried it with 88 but he’s probably the same. Niphaphorn R. Viglione

I dont understand people getting enjoyment from stressing thier dog. They seem to love her it just makes no sense. I hate my pug to get stressed so I teach him proper behaviour for both our sakes.

My pug would be scolded and not allowed pizza if he did that to me. I understand being territorial, but this is aggressiveness.

This, for a pug, is unusual behavior. They are rarely possessive to this degree. Sure it is cute, but if it is daily behavior, something should be checked and anger management training may be needed.
