Meet Yogi — a fluffy little pup who has the internet doing double takes.
At first glance, Yogi seems like an ordinary, adorable dog. But look a little closer, and something feels … different. His almond-shaped eyes, strong brow ridge, and soft, pinkish lips give him an oddly human-like expression that’s leaving people both fascinated and unsettled.
Next to a “regular-looking” dog, the effect is even more striking — almost as if Yogi’s face belongs in a face-swap filter.
His owner, Chantal Desjardins, admits she never really noticed it before.
“Looking at him normally, I don’t see it!” she told The Dodo.
But after posting Yogi’s picture on Facebook, her friends couldn’t stop pointing it out:
“He looks like there is a human in that dog body,” one friend wrote.
“Why does one look like you did a human face swap? It’s freaking me out,” added another.
Soon, a friend uploaded Yogi’s photo to Reddit — and that’s when things really blew up. Comments poured in, ranging from amused to creeped out:
“This is the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen.” [1]
“I call bs. I hope it is anyway, I'm trying to sleep here.” [2]
“This is deeply unsettling…” [3]
“It looks like Nicolas Cage dressed as an Ewok.” [4]
“I'd feel weird petting it.” [5]
Despite the dramatic reactions, Yogi’s unusual look isn’t the result of Photoshop.
His appearance shifts depending on the angle, lighting, and even how his fur is trimmed. In some photos, he looks completely normal.
In others … well, let’s just say it’s easy to see why people are unsettled.
For Chantal, though, all the fuss has just been entertaining. She knows the truth about her pup.
“Yogi is the cuddliest, fluffiest puppy ever,” she said. “He’s the sweetest!”
Quirky looks aside, Yogi is just a dog who loves snuggles — and maybe confusing the internet from time to time.
