Meet Yogi — the adorable pup who’s been making waves online for a very unusual reason.
At first glance, Yogi might just seem like another fluffy, lovable dog. But take a closer look, and you might notice something a little unsettling: he looks shockingly human.
From his expressive almond-shaped eyes and strong browline to his soft, pinkish lips, there's something about Yogi's face that feels eerily familiar — almost like he could start talking to you at any moment.
And when you see him next to a more “typical” looking dog? The effect is even more mind-bending.
Funny enough, Yogi’s owner, Chantal Desjardins, never thought twice about his looks.
“Looking at him normally, I don’t see it!” Chantal told The Dodo.
It wasn’t until she posted a photo of Yogi on Facebook that friends started pointing it out.
One friend commented, “He looks like there’s a human trapped inside that dog body,” while another said, “Why does he look like you did a human face swap? It's freaking me out.”
After one of Chantal’s friends shared Yogi’s picture on Reddit, the internet lost it. Reactions poured in, ranging from hilarious to slightly horrified:
- “This is the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen.”
- “I call BS. I hope it is anyway — I’m trying to sleep here.”
- “This is deeply unsettling…”
- “It looks like Nicolas Cage dressed as an Ewok.”
- “I'd feel weird petting it.”
- “I laughed, then I got uncomfortable, now I’m just rocking back and forth desperately trying to convince myself it’s just a face swap.”
While the photos haven’t been edited, Yogi’s human-like vibe seems to depend a lot on his grooming, the camera angle, and the way his fur frames his face. In other photos, Yogi looks much more like a regular, ridiculously cute dog.
The way his fur is groomed, and his position relative to the camera, seem to play an important role in that humanlike effect.

Chantal, for her part, is loving all the attention and finds the whole thing hilarious — because she knows the real Yogi.
“He is the cuddliest, fluffiest puppy ever,” she said. “He’s the sweetest!”
Photos might mess with your mind, but in real life, Yogi’s just pure doggy perfection.
