Trimming nails on your Pug is not always a fun job. Some pugs are reluctant, even terrified of getting their nails trimmed.

Some even starts screaming, yelping, and moving around constantly. You fight tooth and nails (no pun intended) to get their nails cut… the ultimate challenge of grit and persistence.

Have you ever experienced the pleasure of trimming a pug's (or any reluctant dog's / animal's) nails?

    I dont think thats funny at all 🙁 the pug is so scared, I just feel sorry for it. It would be way easier to train a dog in the first place to give its paw and hold it there and if thats not possible to make it on a table where you can safely hold it down. I of course understand its hard to cut the nails of such a pug but I really dont get whats funny about seeing a scared animal.

    Thank you Jon. We use a towel but haven’t tried chilling it! Protection if the$#%&!@*glands go too, which (OMG!!), does happen! Did you try a warm towel from the dryer, compared to cold? Just curious.
    I wanted a Pug since I wax a child but this is our first. (I’m in my 50’s). He’s a mix and a rescue. I assumed something horrible was done to him concerning his nails in the 2-3 years before he was ours. Now I wonder if it’s a pug thing?
