Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.
When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!
HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:
“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.
The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”
More: What To Do If You See A Dog In A Hot Car
The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.
That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.
Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

That’s not what happened… They weren’t forced to sir anywhere…the cops simply responded to her callus attitude with…well, if it’s good enough for your dog itvshould be good enough for you…and he is RIGHT! She got a ticket for breaking the law,! Please explain to me how she has the nurse to ” complain” it’s abusive for her family to sit in the hot truck, but it’s not for the dog? Stupid woman!

What a great idea. And they should do the exact same thing to people who perform acts of cruelty to all animals.

It’s about damn time an officer “punished” a dog owner for their cruelty and stupidity. I hope she learns a lesson.

Yes. This dog owner deserved strong correction, but I don’t believe in “street justice” even when it’s delivered by a beat-cop in a good cause.

They should be made stay until they are plane miserable and that is not abuse, she just did it to her dog so why is it abuse to her and not the dog.

This should be a mandatory part of the punishment for leaving your dog in a hot car, IN ADDITION to a monetary fine. And they should be cited even on the first offense, with an incrementally increased fine for each subsequent offense. Some poor dogs never get a second chance, so why should a neglectful owner?

Abusive? Give me just a small damn break. Wasn’t abusive to do it to her poor dog though, who has an added coat on top of it and she wouldn’t even shut the door when she was told to sit in there while the cop wrote her a ticket…should say something. It’s more then fair! I think more officers should do this to people who find it okay to leave their animal or child in a hot car like that. Always said an eye for an eye, what you do to said animal should be done to you. Kudos to this officer for defending this poor dog.
