Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.
When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!
HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:
“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.
The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”
More: What To Do If You See A Dog In A Hot Car
The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.
That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.
Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

Kudos to the cop. She should know what it feels like to sit in a hot car. & she shouldn’t get to keep her animal.

She should have animal abuser tattooed across her face so everyone knows what a heartless$#%&!@*she is!

Not a great idea. She should have been charged and the dog taken away. That’s enforcing the law. That prick is not a judge or jury. Police are there to enforce the law not the verdict or punishment. That dog is still in danger.

Any one who leaves Their Kids or Pets in a car especially in the heat deserves the Very Same Treatment.

I like the idea, but needs to be long enough to make the person really sweat. Perhaps if people know how it felt, they would think twice before leaving their pet in a car.

She would be fine, the dogs are the ones that are 3-4 times hotter than us, put a big fur coat on her too, then she may get the point.

No, it’s not abusive to do this to the woman. She deserved it. When will people realize that kids and animals do not belong in parked cars?!

She didn’t learn anything. Her attitude tells me she will shut her dog in the car again and not care one bit. The dog should be taken away and she should never be allowed to have another animal.

Did anybody actually watch the video of the officer at all? He didn’t make the woman sit in her car. He told “since you don’t think it’s so hot why don’t you just sit in your car with the doors closed”? He made a quip since the woman was being confrontational and said she thought he was being abusive. The video shows the whole details, this article was super click baity and poorly done.
Watch the actual video, people. Don’t just read headlines and make up the rest in your head.
