Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.
When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!
HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:
“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.
The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”
More: What To Do If You See A Dog In A Hot Car
The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.
That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.
Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

Way to go now if you can make these owners of pick ups ride in the back naked on a 103 degree day that would be fabulous.

The officer should carry a heavy wool winter jacket and make her and anyone like her wear it while locked in a hot car with the motor running. Don’t people think about the obvious? A dog wears a fur coat. She should have gotten jail time and had her dog surrendered to the authorities.

Should of left her in it till she was gasping. And maybe then dont ler her out! Dog should of been removed from her obviously not capable of treating it well !

I think that any person who leaves a pet or small child in the car in the hot sun, should be given this treatment. Maybe they will think twice before thinking , I’ll just be a minute, You never know what is going to happen.

I am in no way defending the officer, I think it’s a good thing. But I’m not sure it’s within the law. We’re going to have a problem if officers think they’re judge and jury too. I also think a fine might have worked better.

Great – what the officer did was excellent!!! Kudos to him!!! He still should have arrested her for animal abuse- she wasn’t even sorry- still only worried about herself. Shouldn’t be allowed to have animals.
Rachel Wyatt

I can’t believe she was stupid enough to file a complaint, and contact local news to report abuse. Of course it’s abusive! Why do you think the police were there in the first place? Idiot!
