Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.
When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!
HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:
“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.
The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”
More: What To Do If You See A Dog In A Hot Car
The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.
That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.
Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

If you know you are going somewhere that you are not allowed to bring your pet inside with you, LEAVE THE PET AT HOME! They would much rather be at home where they have access to food, water, air conditioning or shade, or at the very least out in the open air.
Personally, I would have made her put on a jacket before I made her sit in her hot car without the engine running. Then she might have a better idea of what it’s like for a dog who is covered in fur/hair feels about sitting in a hot vehicle.

The woman deserved this, but nonetheless it is inappropriate and not the officer’s duty to dole out punishments in any way.
