When the summer sun blazes down, everyone looks for a way to cool off — and as it turns out, wild animals are no different.
Heather Klein was driving through her neighborhood in Monrovia, California, when she spotted a heart-melting sight on someone’s front lawn.
The sprinklers had just switched on, sending arcs of water glittering in the heat. And right in the middle of them was a lively little bear cub, dancing and splashing like a carefree child at play.
“It was so fun to witness!!” Klein later wrote when she shared the video online.
The cub leapt and pranced through the water with pure joy, completely absorbed in the moment. But he wasn’t alone. Just across the street, his mother sat calmly, keeping a watchful eye on her adventurous youngster.
“You can see mama at the end of the video coming to get them!” Klein said.
Monrovia sits at the edge of the Angeles National Forest, where bear sightings are fairly common. But every so often, those encounters bring something extra special — like catching a glimpse of a baby bear discovering the simple joy of sprinklers on a hot day.
“So pure and innocent,” Klein wrote. And watching the cub’s carefree fun, it’s hard to disagree.
