Pittie Reunites With Her Sister Just In Time To Go Into Labor

Two pit bull sisters, Erica and Diamond, were separated but later reunited by Twenty Paws Rescue. The heartwarming story shows the dogs co-parenting Erica's litter of puppies together.

Erica was rescued while pregnant. Twenty Paws Rescue later discovered she had a sister, Diamond, who was still in the shelter. Two days before Erica gave birth, Diamond was also rescued, and the sisters were reunited.

Erica went into labor the very night she was reunited with Diamond, delivering 13 puppies, though only seven survived. She was initially very protective and would not let Diamond near her puppies.

After a few days, Erica became tired from caring for the large litter. Coincidentally, Diamond began to lactate around this time, and the two dogs started co-parenting.

Twenty Paws Rescue's Michael and Rachel recounted that Diamond stepped in as a “Mama Bear,” feeding and grooming the puppies while Erica rested. Soon after, the two sisters began to share the responsibility of caring for the litter together.
