As bizarre as it sounds, a man was arrested for saving his dog from a house fire. The reason being that he put himself and many others, including firefighters, in more danger. But how hard would it be to sit back and see your dog inside with the fire?
“I couldn’t watch no more. I had to go get him.”

No disrespect to law enforcement but I would not stand by and watch my dog burn. I would gladly be arrested & have to appear in court than to live with the memory of watching my dog die through the window. May sound crazy to some, but I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn’t.
He saved a member of his family & I can completely understand his actions.

Before i comment i understand why he was arrested. That is not the issue. The issue here is that he was arrested for saving his dog, and to many others including myself, apart of his family.
Yet in a story i read right before this one, some pond scum abandoned their dog in flood waters and face no charges.
On a seperate note, these two men want to adopt the dog only to be told they may so long as the owners dont come forward. Dog wasnt chipped, was abandoned by owners. If you leave your dog to die you arent the owner anymore..SMFH.

I would have done the same. Obviously, nobody was going to do anything and the dog would have died. No pet owner is going to sit back and watch their pet in a burning building. Unreal they charged him. Thomas Wroten

If there’s any good reason a man should get arrested for, this is it. I’m sure he was feeling he needed to get his dog the same anyone would feel to rescue a member of his family

I would have done the same thing. No way I could just ‘do as I was told’ and watch my dog burn to death. Then explain to my child why that was ‘the right thing to do’.
Maybe he should get a small fine, but nothing more than that.

There is no way that I would stand there and watch my dog (or probably any one else’s either) burn up or die!!! This is rediculous!!! Let the man go!!! He’s the hero here!!! Watching the scum on tv that left their precious dogs and cats to die in Texas from flood waters – let this man go!!! I’ll donate money for any fines that they levy against him!!!!

I agree. I don’t blame him for his action but he did break the law and must face the consequences. Though I would’ve done the same for mine and faced whatever came after.

Sometimes I wonder what this world is coming to. I suppose if that was a human being they would have given him a medal but since it was an animal let’s press charges. I say good for him I would have done the same thing. You think of your pet as part of the family!
