When Lilo was rescued at just 3 weeks old from a rough start in life, Tina Giglio and her family took her in as a foster. It didn’t take long before they realized they could never let her go — Lilo was home for good.
From day one, Lilo’s personality shined. She adores everyone she meets, loves to snuggle, and is fiercely devoted to her family. “She is the most loving, most reliable, most loyal dog you can imagine,” Giglio said.
But there’s one thing Lilo loves almost as much as her family: treats.
So when Giglio received a calendar filled with hilarious photos of dogs catching treats, she immediately thought of her treat-obsessed pup. Inspired, she booked a photographer to recreate the idea, imagining a series of playful, mid-air treat-catching shots.
Lilo was perfectly behaved during the shoot — sitting patiently, holding every pose. The only problem? Her lightning-fast reflexes.
“She was too fast at catching the treats because she’s obsessed with them,” Giglio laughed.
The photographer clicked away, but instead of elegant, perfectly-timed action shots, they ended up with a collection of goofy, wide-eyed, and sometimes downright ridiculous expressions.
And Lilo’s family loved them.
“They weren’t exactly what we had in mind,” Giglio admitted, “but they’re so her — silly, joyful, and full of personality. We got a few fantastic pictures to laugh at, to wonder at, and still fall in love with.”
In the end, the “failed” photo shoot turned into the perfect reminder: sometimes, the funniest moments are the ones you never planned.
