A woman spotted a dog in a car with all of the windows up and called the police. As they worked to rescue the dog, the owner came out of the store and confronted them. You won’t believe what she had to say…
Spread this around to help make sure people understand the dangers of leaving dogs in hot cars.

I’ve seen where they break the glass and the dog become aggressive because of the intrusion to his space. But yes, break the glass if need be! That would have taught the owner as well! $500 window is better then a $100 fine!

Take a picture of the vehicle and a picture of the child or dog in the vehicle. Get the temperature if you can but it’s not a have to if you are by yourself or can’t. It just gives the police more evidence against the culprit.

And the owner was back. The dog was not “profusely panting.” Standing there made it worse. Look for the owner, but watch from a safe distance and take action only if needed. Had they left it alone, the owner would have been back and driven away with a perfectly fine dog. If I have to do this, I crank the AC before I get out and sometimes my dog is still curled up cold when I come back in 5 minutes.

I had people freak out when I had all 4 windows down at least 6″ and a big bowl of ice water in my vehicle. Was coming back from the dog park and had to pick up milk and eggs. I would leave my car running with AC on, but I cannot lock my doors with engine running.

Stupid stupid woman. When will people learn? DO NOT leave any animal in a car, even on a day when it doesn’t really feel all that hot. If you wouldn’t do it to your kids, DON’T do it to your dog!!!

I ran into petsmart to get my dogs cosiquin whilst it was raining sometime last year. As I was waiting in the check out line an obese young lady came rushing in with her boyfriend claiming there was a dog trapped in a car, I looked over and realized they were on about my car. (My dog barks at people he doesn’t know) I flipped out on them and they couldn’t even bring themselves to respond.

Be smart and either leave your dog at home or put the windows down a bit so they can get some air. Don’t be ignorant and leave your dog in the car without water and windows down.
