Dog Left On The Curb With All Her Belongings Waits Faithfully For Family To Return

Nirvana didn’t understand why her family had left her behind. All she knew was that she had a blanket, a little food, and the spot where they’d said goodbye. So she curled up on the curb beside an empty lot near a car wash — and waited.

“She was lying there for two days,” said Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy dog rescue.

Workers at the car wash first noticed the quiet pup resting on the blanket. When they saw her food running out, they gave her more and then called Hall for help.

Though Nirvana ate, she spent nearly all her time sleeping, as if exhaustion from waiting had drained her spirit.

“She was so sleepy,” Hall said. “She was just so exhausted from waiting.”

When Hall finally arrived, she approached gently so as not to frighten her. To her relief, Nirvana stood, wagged her tail, and leaned into the leash as if she’d been waiting for this moment all along.

“She just wiggled her butt,” Hall said. “She knew someone came to save her.”

Hall brought Nirvana straight to the vet, where the tired pup received her first bath in weeks.

“It just washed away the sadness and everything,” Hall said.

The vet staff quickly fell in love with her. Despite everything she had endured, Nirvana’s sweetness shone through.

“She’s something else,” Hall said. “She’s sweeter than anything.”

Physically, Nirvana was healthy. But her heart needed mending, and the team was determined to give her the love she’d been missing.

Before long, Nirvana moved into a foster home where she traded lonely nights on a curb for warm cuddles in bed. She now goes on long walks and hikes with her foster mom, zooming around with an energy no one saw in her those first days.

“She has a lot of energy now,” Hall said. “She’s funny, very playful and happy.”

Nirvana is still waiting for her forever family, but in the meantime, she hasn’t stopped showing her gratitude to everyone who stepped up for her.

“She’s so grateful,” Hall said. “So thankful.”
