Judge Cicconetti of Painesville, Ohio likes to do things a bit differently in his courtroom.
He believes in trulymaking the punishment fit the crime, which often results in creative and unexpected sentences.
This past September, Alyssa Morrow pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. She left her dog, Moose, locked up inside her dirt-ridden house. For an entire week, Moose was all alone with no one to take care of him.
When he was finally rescued, his saviors were shocked and appalled by his condition. Moose’s fur was falling out.
He was starving and thirsty. Rather than throwing her in jail like most judges would do, Judge Cicconetti made Alyssa – Dog Abuser do something that many people would find much more repulsive.
First, he spoke on behalf of Moose, noting how frightened he must have been during his abandonment.
Then, Judge Cicconetti looked Alyssa – Dog Abuser right in the eyes and said.
“Maybe you should get a little taste of that, but I’m going to let you have a choice here, and the choice is I want you to live like Moose, and in order to do that I want you to go down to the county dump, to the landfill, and I want them to find the stinkiest smelliest god-awful odor place they can find in that dump and I want you to sit there for 8 hours tomorrow, to think what you did to that dog while you smell the odor. If you puke, you puke.”
Do you think the punishment fits the crime?

She deserves no less than what she did to her dog. Plus never being allowed to have any pet ever again.

Evil, monster. A woman would never do this.

No. Eight hours is nothing. It should have been 90 days in a cage at the dump with no bed and a 5-gallon bucket for a toilet. Bread and water only to eat/drink.

She should be jailed and NEVER be allowed to own ANY kind of pet

A good punishment would be to clean dog SH!t up in dog park for 6 months.

8 hours -sounds bad EXCEPT the nose/brain blocks out the smells after an hour. S he sould spend days in jail -just like her dog did.
Brenda Rainey Cunningham

She should be put in stocks, inside her filth ridden house, for TWO weeks. After that, she should have to do 200 hours of community service by picking out all the recyclables from that dump.

I think it should be a little harsher than 8 hours at the dump. Add some fines, community service and put her on a do not adopt or sell or give pets registry.

No he wasn’t rough enough on her. Put her in a closed room, no water, no food, with rotten garbage all over for a week oh and no bathroom.

I totally agree 8 hours isn’t long enough. Plus it also doesn’t say whether that house at that poor dog was trapped inside had air conditioning or not but I’m sure it didn’t. She should be left in a house full of garbage and dirt and smells with no food or water for a week maybe throw some Nair in her hair so her hair will fall out too. I truly don’t understand people who get animals and then mistreat them. Or get rid of them because their living situation changes or because they have a child. Your pets are supposed to be your family your friend

Not long enough. Should have hefty fine, live on whatever she left for Moose for same period of time AND MOST IMPORTANTLY…NEVER be able to own another animal the rest of her life.
There should be a worldwide registry for animal abusers.

8 hours isn’t long enough to be hungry and thristy, and knowing when she is getting out she won’t be scared lock her in and tell her you will be back when when you feel like it. let her set there for three days in her own pee and poop hungry then maybe maybe let her out.
Anita Chaplin

Well perhaps it’s a start, but no, not enough. She should never be able to have a pet again, and she should have to do a lot of community work, perhaps at a raw sewage plant.

I like this judge’s method of sentencing.Let them get a taste of their own medicine. They’ll think twice the next time they hurt someone or an animal.

I’m with Julie Shull Meeks on this one but only give her a bucket to use first a toilet with no place to dump it. Then add 1 year to her sentence.

Should have been a week not just an eight hour stint. Make her sleep there for six nights as well and see how she likes it

This judge is awesome. We need this wise man to talk to our judges in Victoria Australia, maybe the out of control youth on our streets would think twice about all the heart aches they are causing good people. Our judges just give them a slap on the wrist for armed robbery. Disgusting and disgraceful. And we are not permitted to say anything against them for fear of hurting their feelings. I’m ashamed !!!

The punishment does fit the crime but mabay not a dump site, some where locked inside where she can smell the stench the whole 8 hours
