Judge Cicconetti of Painesville, Ohio likes to do things a bit differently in his courtroom.
He believes in trulymaking the punishment fit the crime, which often results in creative and unexpected sentences.
This past September, Alyssa Morrow pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. She left her dog, Moose, locked up inside her dirt-ridden house. For an entire week, Moose was all alone with no one to take care of him.
When he was finally rescued, his saviors were shocked and appalled by his condition. Moose’s fur was falling out.
He was starving and thirsty. Rather than throwing her in jail like most judges would do, Judge Cicconetti made Alyssa – Dog Abuser do something that many people would find much more repulsive.
First, he spoke on behalf of Moose, noting how frightened he must have been during his abandonment.
Then, Judge Cicconetti looked Alyssa – Dog Abuser right in the eyes and said.
“Maybe you should get a little taste of that, but I’m going to let you have a choice here, and the choice is I want you to live like Moose, and in order to do that I want you to go down to the county dump, to the landfill, and I want them to find the stinkiest smelliest god-awful odor place they can find in that dump and I want you to sit there for 8 hours tomorrow, to think what you did to that dog while you smell the odor. If you puke, you puke.”
Do you think the punishment fits the crime?

Yes the punishment suits the crime if she gets no food and water

This judge got it ! I loves his thinking give them the choice. Shame or jail you choose !

I think she should have sat in the dump much longer…and then sent to jail to do the filthiest, nastiest jobs for as long as law allowed.

I think he should have jailed her for the same amount of time. And nobody check on her while she was locked up. And remove the flushing toilet so she can sit in her own piss and$#%&!@*

Not severe enough. I would have made her spend at least 6 months to a full year there, all alone. Zero visit from anyone. And afterward, she would not be allowed to have a dog ever again. If she even dared to look at one, I’d throw her back into that place, for a longer period of time. Acts like this should not be forgiven. Or maybe I’d just beat her to a bloody pulp and let her die in a pool of her own blood.

Actually I think she should be flogged with a bullwhip until the flesh off her back is stripped off.

Send her down the sewers with the sewer rats she’s no better leave her there for a month or two

Good judge!!! But she deserves more harsh punishment! 8 hours isn’t even close enough to the punishment she deserves!!! But at least she’s not getting free food, shelter and a bed sitting in jail!

Obviously you don’t comprehend English. I just said the exact same thing but different wording. Not once did I say she was innocent. I said she needs to be treated the same as she treated the animal.

If her house was that bad the fat cow wouldn’t notice the smell anyway. Should have locked her in a cell for a week with no food or water, see how she likes it!
Charles Damato

it should have been longer like a a month everyday 8hrs because it didn’t seem to bother her OR let her stay in that pig house chained with no food or water for at least 5 days just to let her feel that dog’s pain and she could have lost some weight too!
Sandi Crawford

No, she should stay a whole week in the dump under a lean-to! Looks like she’s not starving so she should be able to live there that long on reserves!

How sure is he she go to the dump, find that spot of the worst smell and sit there for 8 hours? Who will monitor her?
Suggestions of everyone who commented to: locked in with no food and water and plumbing fan week is best suited to what she did.

I thought the judge was going to say, she would have to eat her meals from anything found at the dump for one week and she would be supervised to do so. Then again, as obese as she is, probably could have lived a month off of her fat. Then again, I also thought he may send her to work free at the animal shelter cleaning up dog mess.

Great idea but not enough.. she should do this for more than 8 hrs and should be denied sustenance from at least 1 week

These hate bait articles are getting old. I think we’re all aware that crappy people do bad things to their dogs. Foaming at the mouth for revenge over it on FB really doesn’t help.
