For as long as he can remember, Louie the ginger cat has been stalked by a persistent shadow — his own tail. It twitches, it flicks, it follows him everywhere like a mischievous ghost he just can’t shake.
And recently, Louie decided enough was enough.
In a hilarious home video shared by his mom, Haley Gilson, Louie can be seen in the middle of a dramatic showdown.
After what looks like an intense battle of wills, the determined feline finally manages to catch the elusive tail and pins it to the ground in triumph.
Victory!
Well, almost.
Once Louie has the tail under control, there’s a pause — a long, confused pause. It's as if he’s suddenly asking himself: Now what?
With the tail secured and absolutely no exit strategy in place, Louie finds himself hilariously stuck in a loop of feline uncertainty.
Though it’s unclear how long his standoff lasted, by the end of the clip Louie appears satisfied, having firmly reminded his tail who’s in charge. For now, anyway.
In a follow-up video, it becomes clear that Louie’s tail isn’t his only rival. He shares his home with other worthy challengers, though it's hard to say whether any of them present as much of a mystery.
