Meet Coco — a lovable cat with a rebellious streak and a knack for turning every rule into a personal challenge.
Ever since Emily Chaplin and her family adopted him two years ago, Coco’s been making his own house rules.
“He loves opening cabinets and sleeping in them, getting his own food out of the cabinets when it is dinner time and shredding paper towels when he is bored,” Chaplin told The Dodo.
Coco knows these things are off-limits — but that’s never stopped him before.
To keep an eye on their troublemaker while they were at work, Chaplin and her husband set up a camera high on a shelf in the kitchen. It seemed like the perfect way to catch Coco’s antics without him noticing.
But Coco, of course, noticed.
Just hours after the camera went up, he was already caught with his head in a cabinet. When Chaplin’s husband saw the footage, he used the microphone to issue a warning: “Coco, get out.”
Coco’s reaction? Pure indignation.
“He was not a happy camper when he realized he was being watched!” Chaplin said.
Instead of backing down, Coco marched straight to the camera — and knocked it to the floor.
“He was upset that we were watching him,” Chaplin said. “My husband and I were hysterical reviewing the footage!”
Coco, on the other hand, looked completely unbothered.
It was classic Coco — mischievous, bold, and a little too smart for his own good. And while his antics may test the limits of household order, his family wouldn’t trade him for the world.
“My family and I always say Coco is definitely a mischievous cat,” Chaplin said. “And a very cool one.”
