Ghost is the kind of dog who makes everyone’s day brighter. Before officially adopting him, Natashia Saurey used to dog sit for Ghost — and when his original family had to rehome him, she didn’t hesitate to bring him into her life for good. A year later, he’s now a beloved part of the family, known for his big morning smiles and even bigger heart.
“Every single morning when he wakes up, he finds me and greets everyone with the happiest grin,” Saurey told The Dodo. “He especially adores babies — he can’t help but smile when he sees them. It’s the sweetest thing.”
Ghost is a joy-filled pup with a long list of loves: napping, outdoor adventures, warm hugs — and sticks. Lots and lots of sticks.
“My kids love collecting sticks, but if Ghost finds them, they become his sticks,” Saurey said. “All we have to do is say, ‘What is that?!’ and he’ll start searching like crazy.”
During a recent romp in the woods, Ghost did just that — he spotted what he believed to be the perfect stick. The only problem? It was buried deep beneath a mountain of fallen leaves. But that didn’t stop him. He launched himself into the pile, vanishing completely.
That’s when Saurey snapped a photo — just as Ghost was hidden in the leaves, just moments before bursting out triumphantly, stick in mouth and tail wagging. She didn’t realize at the time that the photo had captured something unexpected: Ghost had practically disappeared into the landscape.
“He was so excited!” Saurey said. “He loves the outdoors, he loves being wild and happy. He was super proud — right until his older sister stole the stick.”
Later, looking back at the photo, Saurey realized it was nearly impossible to see Ghost in the image. She decided to post it online and challenge the internet: Can you find the dog in this picture?
The post went viral almost instantly. Within minutes, there were hundreds of comments — and confusion. Even after Saurey posted a version with Ghost circled, many people still couldn’t spot him.
“In just 23 minutes, it had over 500 comments. People were absolutely losing it,” she laughed. “And still, most couldn’t find him.”

Out of everyone who tried to find Ghost in the picture, only two or three people actually got it right. It’s so hard it might even be impossible, but Saurey promises he's actually in there somewhere.
