Some people may say that it's too dangerous and risky to bring bring a baby into a home with a big dog…

…let alone letting the dog come anywhere near the baby, but dogs do make for loving, protective family members.

That's exactly the case here as Scout the Boxer gets introduced to and meets his newborn baby sister for the very first time! It's the sweetest thing ever!

    Best thing we did is give our boxer all the smells of new baby b4 bringing baby in..making fuss of them without baby n letting them smell baby smells from you n then allow dog 2 smell n lick baby’s feet our boxer was our first baby n we were very worried bout introduce each newborn…Our boxer also had friends children he grumbled at..they are looking out for family always..and as it happened turned out he had eye ulcer n was basically warning he didn’t feel well enough 2 play. X all the best with new addition.

    Your welcome..we sadly lost our boy last year @12 n half yrs old…my children talk n ask about him everyday we have photos everywhere n he was n will always be part of the family…inclusion is the key exclusion causes jealousy… xx

    Totally thy are the most loving caring gentle things ever . This is our cassie with our baby she loves all our children she has a very special bond with my almost 4 yr old also

    We’ve had our boxer for 10 years and 2 kids with number 3 now on the way… she’s done great with them, as they’ve gotten older she likes them less (she was very attentive when they were little but now she sleeps where they can’t find her)…. she was abused as a puppy but never hurt either kid. Even now she’ll nip in their direction but never close to them or with any intention of catching them; it’s more like a stop it kind of movement but even that takes a while for her to get to.

    My boxer was very maternal as well. I used to say she would nurse those babies for me if she could. She also hated a baby crying and needed them to be comforted immediately.

    I still watched how my kids treated our boxer when they were young. Every once in a while they had the chance to pull and ear or grab a face too hard. She never reacted. Not once. She was amazing.
