Ammo the Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix was born in Hungary but became part of the Redondo Beach Police Department at 18 months old.

The K9 just recently turned four years old, and around this time he gained internet fame from a video posted to Instagram showing his handler presenting a jack-in-the-box to the dog. 🙂

Ammo had never seen one of these before, so this was all new to him and the officer. The handler cranks the jack-in-the-box and watches for the K9 to react to the toy popping open.
It’s pretty funny but also maybe a sign that Ammo takes his job a little too seriously! 😉
