After a long, tiring day at work, Cassidy, a Florida resident, pulled into her driveway ready to unwind. But as she walked up to her front porch, she suddenly had that unmistakable feeling — the sense that she was being watched.
At first glance, everything looked perfectly normal. Her porch was quiet, her plants were in place, and her favorite frog statue by the door was sitting exactly where it always did.
But then something about it felt … off.
“The frog statue just looked different somehow,” Cassidy told The Dodo. “As I was walking in after work, exhausted, I had to stop and drop everything to take a photo.”
Leaning in for a closer look, Cassidy realized the truth — and burst out laughing.
From inside the open mouth of her decorative frog statue, a real frog was staring right back at her.
“I could hardly believe it,” she said.
The tiny amphibian had apparently taken shelter inside the hollow statue after recent rainstorms, curling up comfortably inside his ceramic twin.
“It was just too cute and funny,” Cassidy said. “Just a perfect and silly photo op.”
For Cassidy — a self-proclaimed frog lover — the surprise couldn’t have come at a better time.
“It definitely lifted my mood after a long day,” she said.
The frog, meanwhile, seemed perfectly content in his new home, calmly peeking out from behind the statue’s grin like he owned the place.
No one knows yet if the little guy plans to stick around for good, but Cassidy certainly hopes he does.
“I would love if he made it his permanent home!” she said.
