For most people, CVS Pharmacy is a quick stop for snacks or medicine. But for one giant Great Pyrenees in Florida named Ritchie, it’s the highlight of his entire day.
Ritchie’s love affair with CVS began last year, when he tagged along with his mom on a simple errand. The trip was uneventful — until a kind cashier opened a bag of treats and offered one to the fluffy visitor.
From that moment on, Ritchie was hooked.
“This lady gave Ritchie a treat 5 months ago,” his mom wrote on Instagram. “Now, Ritchie comes back every single day.”
Playdates at the park with his best friend, Chloe, are fun — but in Ritchie’s eyes, nothing compares to strutting into CVS for a warm greeting and a snack. Now, all of his daily walks end at the pharmacy door.

As soon as his leash is unclipped, Ritchie marches straight to the register. If there are customers ahead of him, he doesn’t mind — he just takes his place in line like any other shopper.
“Sometimes he even waits patiently … as long as it takes,” his mom said.

When it’s finally his turn, Ritchie perks up and leans across the counter for his treat. At first, he bonded with the woman who fed him that very first time, but now he’s made friends with the entire staff.
“That sweet lady had no idea what she was getting her entire team into …” his mom joked.

Luckily, all the CVS employees are just as in love with Ritchie as he is with them. Whoever’s on shift knows to greet Ritchie with a snack, a hug, and sometimes even a VIP escort back to the car.
After his nightly CVS run, Ritchie heads home, curls up in bed, and drifts off — no doubt dreaming of the next day’s adventure.
Though he’s a well-traveled dog who’s seen plenty of exciting places, none have stolen his heart quite like his local CVS.
“In Ritchie’s opinion, it’s the best place in the world,” his mom said.
