Meet Lufy — a small rescue pup with a big personality and a story that’s capturing hearts around the world.

Lufy was born in Korea, bred by an irresponsible breeder to be unusually tiny. At just four months old, however, he began to face serious health challenges — breathing difficulties, spinal deformities, and eventually, the loss of use of his back legs.

His family, who had since relocated to the United Arab Emirates, felt they couldn’t care for his growing needs and surrendered him to Sahara Kennel Rescue. That decision turned out to be life-changing for Lufy.

“We have experience working with animals that suffer from paralysis,” said Xyza, the rescue’s manager. “We had a custom wheelchair made for him using the lightest materials so it wouldn’t strain his body.”

Once fitted with his tiny wheels, Lufy’s spirit truly began to shine. Instead of letting his disabilities hold him back, he embraced life with joy and curiosity.

“Despite his condition, he doesn’t let anything slow him down,” Xyza explained. “Lufy is always happy, and everyone who meets him falls in love with him. With everything he’s been through, you’d expect him to be grumpy — but he’s the complete opposite. He brings joy everywhere he goes.”

This week, Sahara Kennel Rescue announced that Lufy was officially available for adoption. The response was staggering: within days, posts about him had gathered over a million likes and shares across social media.

“We were surprised by the sheer numbers,” Xyza admitted. “But we never doubted people would love him. From the moment we met Lufy, we knew he was special. Hearing from families around the world who want to give him a forever home has been so heartwarming.”

While Lufy’s medical conditions can’t be reversed, that hasn’t stopped compassionate families from stepping forward. Applications continue to pour in from people eager to give him a safe, happy home — wheelchair, quirks, and all.

“We’re very optimistic Lufy will find the perfect home,” Xyza said. “The families we’ve spoken with have been wonderful, asking the right questions and showing a real willingness to provide everything he needs.”

For now, Lufy is rolling through life with a wagging tail, making friends everywhere he goes. And soon, he’ll get to bring that joy into a forever home of his own.
