20 Things All Dog Owners Must Never Forget

It's been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain't that the truth!

Here are some of our favorite dog quotes that are short and to the point, but that really conveyed how we felt about dogs, and why we do what we do here at PawBuzz:

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
“Unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.”
“What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.”
“In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.”

a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself – Josh Billings

Sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. Thank you God for giving us our dogs. We are much better humans for loving them. I couldn’t be there when they put my boxer down, but my wife and son were. I’m crying just thinking about it. I’ll try harder next time to be there when he crosses across the Rainbow Bridge.

  2. this is my chewy she never leaves my side. i had a receent stay at a rehab for injuries i got in a fall and she stayed with me there too. we go back there every week or so she loved it there. LOVE HER TILL THE END AND BEYOND. shes is the happiest dog .

  3. I have done it too many time’s and have a new baby she was 2 when I got her she is 3 now was a rescue and her name is Cuddles and she cuddles she sit’s/lays in my chair or lap with me and sleeps with me. Loves her Yum-Yum’s (treats) and her blankie.and her toys she has here favorite toys!!!

  4. Number 20 really hit home. My 12 1/2-year-old Shih Tzu died Friday morning in my living room. The first night since we had him that he didn’t sleep in our bedroom. He had a stroke about a month ago and had gone downhill ever sense that we knew it was just a matter of time. I’m just thankful that I did not have to carry him to a vet for the needle. So long Bubba

  5. Yep.. Sitting here in tears. I never thought I could be with them during their final journey. I lost my first pup when he was only 8 to cancer that I didn’t even know he had and within 18 months after losing him we lost our new pup to renal kidney failure. My heart was broken but I could never imagine not being their with them when they had to say goodbye. We are truly blessed with these little miracles. I DO believe humans need to learn a lot more from the lives of a dog.
