20 Things All Dog Owners Must Never Forget

It's been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain't that the truth!

Here are some of our favorite dog quotes that are short and to the point, but that really conveyed how we felt about dogs, and why we do what we do here at PawBuzz:

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
“Unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.”
“What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.”
“In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.”

a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself – Josh Billings

Sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. The hardest day of my life was #20 I laid down on the floor, nose to nose, I held his paw and pet his head, looking into his eyes for the last 15 minutes before the end. He was riddled with cancer, had bad hips that caused him not to walk without human support…..It was time…….Still hard!

  2. If you don’t tear up at this list you should not be allowed to own a dog. The last one is the hardest thing you have to do as a pet owner but you have to love your pets all the way (and beyond) and they will be more scared without you

  3. I couldn’t be with my girl until the end. She had stayed at the vet after having seizures and passed before I got to see her the next day. I wanted to be there, I was actually going to put her to sleep because the vet said she had a brain tumor. I didn’t want her to suffer! I was going to scoop her in my arms and sit outside on the grass in front of the vet’s office. Then after I had time, I’d sit with her while she crossed over to the other side. They called me to tell that they we to check on her and she was gone. Reading #20 makes me sad that she wasn’t with me! 🙁
