20 Things All Dog Owners Must Never Forget

It's been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain't that the truth!

Here are some of our favorite dog quotes that are short and to the point, but that really conveyed how we felt about dogs, and why we do what we do here at PawBuzz:

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
“Unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.”
“What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.”
“In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.”

a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself – Josh Billings

Sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I loved my 11 year old Baylie so much, I knew she was sick and couldn’t stand to see her suffer. I cried until I had no tears left . My Vet let me take as much time as I needed to say goodbye and hold my little girl for the last time. It’s been two years and I still say goodnight to her and tell her how much I miss her everyday and always will. Still cry everyday. I have rescued another Jack because she needed me but Baylie will always be my special little girl.

  2. We have a 13 year old terrier type chihuahua that gets insulin twice a day and has cataracts but is always happy to see us no matter how bad his diabetis or arthritis gets. He never complains of his ailments. And with cataracts he took out a rat hiding in the grass.

  3. Our cat Scooter had just had exploratory surgery to see what was wrong, which turned out to be pancreatic cancer. He hadn’t been eating for almost a week. After the vet saw that she could do nothing to save him, she closed him back up and called us so we could come and say goodbye to him. Even though has was unconscious we were still able to pet him and talk to him and kiss him goodbye and tell him what a good kitty he was and how much we loved him. Then our vet gave him the injection and confirmed that he was gone. She left us alone to spend some time with him before we left. We had him cremated and picked up his ashes a couple of days later. I still muss him so much.

  4. My little chi hates other dogs, (because she’s a human baby), can’t stand being outside alone (because I’m always with her), and loves meeting other humans (Because they shower her with attention). The only thing on this list that pertains to my little Tiffany necklace baby is the final journey, which will be a journey for us both. I will be with her until the end, and even after will love her until my last breath.

  5. My babies are getting up there in age and the thought of one day not having them just rips my heart apart and all of these are so true of dogs if only humanity could have the heart and soul of dogs this world might be a better place
