20 Things All Dog Owners Must Never Forget

It's been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain't that the truth!

Here are some of our favorite dog quotes that are short and to the point, but that really conveyed how we felt about dogs, and why we do what we do here at PawBuzz:

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
“Unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.”
“What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.”
“In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.”

a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself – Josh Billings

Sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. I lost my beautiful baby to the rainbow bridge nearly six months ago, she was very poorly at the end and she died on the theatre table so I wasn’t with her at the end which broke my heart in two, 🙁 I sat and cuddled her after she was gone and told her how much I loved her, she was taken too soon at only seven, but she taught me so much in her little time and we made so many memories together X see you soon Millie X X

  2. I can’t stop reading and tears running down my face i feel the same way when we lost one of pugs in 2014 and our other one in 2015 it’s the hardest thing to get over we miss them so much

  3. On my last golden. Rusty will be 9 this year. He suffers from epilepsy, chronic pancreatitis, arhtritis and a neurological disease call Wobblers Disease, which is slowly paralyzing his rear legs. He can still walk, still run for short periods Had a massive grand mal seizure just a few days ago. He can still lead a happy doggy life but when that goes, I will put him down. I will not let him suffer for me to selfishly hold onto him. Right now, his seizures are very few, and he still plays and loves like always. Will miss him like crazy when he goes. He will be my last dog as I have Multiple Sclerosis and can no longer take care of a dog like this like he should be taken care of. Because of Rusty’s issues and age, he no longer requires daily walks just playing in the yard is enough for him. But all my dogs have been goldens and young goldens need a lot of exercise, need to be groomed regularly, etc.

  4. I’ve always been there when one of my animals had to be put down and it was always the hardest things I’ve every done. But they deserved to be held, told they were the best dog ever and hugged and kissed when they left.
