20 Things All Dog Owners Must Never Forget

It's been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, ain't that the truth!

Here are some of our favorite dog quotes that are short and to the point, but that really conveyed how we felt about dogs, and why we do what we do here at PawBuzz:

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
“Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend never owned a dog.”
“Unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.”
“What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.”
“In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.”

a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself – Josh Billings

Sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. This is our boy Davis. We lost him in May. He had 12 pounds of a tumour removed and the vet had told us six months. We got almost two years. He was such a good boy. He did 8 years of PALS work and was loved by many.
These shepherds are the most incredible dogs.
We’ve adopted a new boy. He’s 15 months old and such a great tonic for a broken heart.

  2. I just read these to Nathan, he has been struggling with our 10 month old, Jaxon, he doesn’t always listen, and sometimes forgets he isn’t supposed to chew on his slippers or toys. This really helped, hearing in a dogs words.

  3. I couldn’t bear to read #20 with my pregnancy hormones. This sweet girl was wanted from the time I was a child, and at nearly 8 will always be my baby. She has brought our family such joy and we couldn’t love her more!

  4. I would add, if possible, let the vet come to ur home for the final journey and request the tranquilizer first. It might cost a little, but it will b well worth the time u have to love-fest ur loyal friend.
